3D printers – Resin and filament

About our techniques

3D scanning and the consequent solid reproduction of an object, represent a real step forward in production technology, are in fact the best solution, between real and virtual, both to obtain models to offer to the public for a wider perception and to cut production costs and prototyping times of a product.
The 3D printing technologies at our disposal allow to realize with very accurate levels of detail and rapid reproductions of objects of any kind: archaeological finds, sculptures, architectural elements and works of art in general, but also mechanical components and functional prototypes.
The reproductions obtained can be used in many ways:

• to create realistic replicas to be exhibited in exhibitions or other exhibition spaces or set up alternative museum paths, such as tactile paths for the blind and visually impaired;
• for restoration, recreating missing portions of an object;
• for merchandising;
• to organize educational workshops with schools;
• for study and research reasons.
• To cut costs and production time, design and prototyping.

Existing 3D printing technologies are numerous and different from each other.
There is no technology suitable for every situation, but depending on the object to be reproduced and the purpose it serves, it is important to choose the most effective technology (materials, printing methods) thanks to which you will get the reproduction as faithful as possible to the requested object.
For this reason we work using all the main technologies available today, to be able to advise from time to time the best choice applicable.

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF USING 3D PRINTING?

The advantages are manifold, first of all the possibility to produce objects in a short time compared to traditional production methods, but also the possibility of creating small and high-precision products but also large ones, also guaranteeing a high level of customization..

WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE AREAS OF APPLICATION OF 3D PRINTING?

The fields of application of 3D printing and additive manufacturing are manifold, from artistic-cultural to technical-mechanical. The possibility of using different printing technologies such as resin printers or filament printers, makes possible an object with both complex geometric shapes and certain physical characteristics such as elasticity, mechanical strength and hardness.

WHAT MATERIALS CAN I PRINT AN OBJECT WITH?

Depending on the technology used to print the requested object you can access multitude of different thermoplastic materials or resins with different physical and aesthetic properties. In the case of FDM(filament)printers, thermoplastic materials such asPLA, PET, PET-G, NYLON, PP, HIPS, Carbon fiber-enriched plastics and many others can be used depending on the final use you want to give to the required jet and the physical characteristics you want. This is why Arcstudy’s staff is able to choose which material is best suited to the situation. With our materials it is possible to make both purely aesthetic objects and objects with advanced physical properties such as resistance to high temperatures, resistance to wear, elasticity and many others.
